11/7/11 - Hands, Hands, Everywhere Hands

Hands and a couple feet for good measure. I believe I went a bit too value-intense in several sketches- sorry about getting so carried away. Probably should have included more of the body's form/environment as well, but my main focus was to make the hands as proportional as I could manage.

    Zach,
    The form in these is pretty decent but overall, they are just too rendered. There is no sense of gesture in these. There is very little interaction with other objects. Avoid using short lines ! Loosen up... not just with your contours but with the value pattens - work with the contours. When you work against the gesture, you slow down the drawing and we lose the gesture.
    The next time I see you in a session I will work with you on this.
