10/31/11 - Trick or Treaters

So I tried something that is much different stylistically- gone are the construction lines from past work. Still very much off. Hard to hold the images of the kid's movements correctly in my mind on such a night of excitement and fun for them. Proper form/construction/motion all seem to keep eluding me.

  1. Zach,
I like the subjects you are drawing. Look more to drawing kids and figures in motion.
You should try going back to the ball point pen and really work on the accuracy of the final contour line you put down. These get to mannered and thick.
Try to get an image of the character- what they are wearing, their overall posture - push it - make it pronounced - make the head a little bigger and the limbs a little skinnier if they are kids - then use that as a "model sheet" to work to a pose.
Most importantly, keep drawing. The more you draw, the more this whole process gets easier.
